Wednesday, October 15, 2025: Virtual or In-Person

Dr. Donna Berghauser is a Florida-licensed and Nationally Certified School Psychologist with over 20 years' experience working in school, community, and private practice settings. She currently supports clinicians and educators throughout the Southeast as an Assessment Consultant with WPS. She earned her Doctorate of Psychology from Nova Southeastern University and is an adjunct professor within their school psychology training program. Donna is a Past President of the Florida Association of School Psychologists (2017-2019) and has held several roles with the organization since. Her professional interests include culturally sensitive assessment and intervention, training and leadership development, and systems change. In her leisure, she enjoys travelling, visiting local coffee shops, and hanging out with her fluffy dog– Cosmo.
Dr. Berghauser will be presenting a morning session on The ABCs of Developmental Assessments, which will encompass assessing young children as they transition into the school setting. It will review evaluation methods that can be utilized in a holistic evaluation of young children. Particular emphasis will be placed on assessment and eligibility considerations for children with developmental delays and intellectual disabilities.
Dr. Berghauser will be presenting an afternoon session on Piecing it Together: Revisiting Best Practices in ASD Evaluations, which will provide an overview of ASD and assessment considerations needed for clinical and educational decision-making. Discussions include diagnostic and eligibility considerations, multi-disciplinary tools for fulfilling assessment requirements (including pragmatic language skills), and educational planning outcomes.

Dr. Jerry L. Turner is a Licensed Educational Psychologist in California (LEP #2966) and holds parallel credentials in Texas, Arizona, and Nevada. He serves as President of Individualized Educational Psychology, Inc., where he conducts independent psycho-educational evaluations, and delivers professional development for school psychologists. Additional certifications include Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist and State of California mediator. Earlier service as a U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant during Operation Desert Storm informs his commitment to resilience, equity, and student well-being.
Dr. Turner is the author of “AI for School Psychologists” (2025), “So You Are a School Psychologist” (2020), and several other practitioner texts. He has taught graduate and undergraduate courses at California Baptist University, College of the Desert, Copper Mountain College, and Chapman University, and presents regularly for the National Association of School Psychologists and the California Association of School Psychologists. His current interests include strengths-based autism assessment, artificial intelligence applications in school psychology, and mentoring early-career practitioners. Away from the lecture hall he enjoys piloting his instrument-rated single-engine aircraft.
Dr. Turner will be presenting a morning session on Maximizing School Psychologist Efficiency with AI and Effective Strategies. The field of school psychology is continually evolving, with increasing demandson practitioners to manage large caseloads while maintaining quality of work.This workshop is designed to equip school psychologists with practical tools andstrategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness through the integration ofartificial intelligence (AI) and advanced technology techniques using softwarealready available to school psychologists. By leveraging advanced use of Word,Excel, Outlook, and Google Workspace, psychologists can optimize time, reduceworkload stress, and ensure high-quality service delivery to students.
Dr. Turner will be presenting an afternoon session on Leveraging Technology for Effective School Psychology. Every skill taught in this workshop is immediately applicable to maintaining quality work through effective use of artificial intelligence (AI) and information technology (IT), despite a large caseload. This presentation provides a comprehensive overview of AI, IT, and an organizational system for effective time and email management, file back-up, calendaring, assessment scoring, PDF file creation and use, psycho-educational report writing, remote computer access, IEP meeting follow-up, and proactive communication. The workshop demonstrates how leveraging AI and IT streamlines the process from assessment plan through the IEP meeting. You will leave the workshop with proven and practical techniques, skills, resources, and procedures, not just theory.
