Spring Workshop - March 23, 2012

Please join us for the 2012 SCASP Spring Workshop "Executive Functions and Classroom Behavior" presented be George McCloskey, PhD, of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. The workshop will take place at the DiGiorgio Campus Center at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC.

This workshop will present a comprehensive model of executive functions and discuss the impact of executive functions on learning, behavior and classroom production. Ways to assess executive function difficulties and methods for helping children with EF difficulties improve their behavior and academic performance either through teacher assistance or through increasing their capacity for self regulation also will be addressed.

Summer Institute: June 25-27, 2012

Three days of fabulous workshops have been planned for this year's Summer Institute, as well as several family activities. Come hear everything you ever wanted to know about medication often prescribed for children. Presenters from "The Angry Smile" program will also be with us to discuss passive aggressive children and interventions.

School Psychology Awareness Week: November 12-16, 2012

The National Association of School Psychologists has declared November 12-16, 2012 as School Psychology Awareness Week. During this time and throughout the year, school psychologists across the state can help increase awareness of the field of school psychology.
