What does SCASP membership mean?

Advocacy

As a school psychologist or school psychology student, your voice needs to be heard. SCASP provides opportunities to ensure that your issues and priorities are shared with districts and educational decision makers regionally, as well as state and national legislators. Members ideas, priorities, and issues are also conveyed to the media.

Learning

Current news and professional development are vital to school psychologists. SCASP members receive a subscription to our newsletter with current information, key issues, and opportunities to help you stay informed. SCASP provides a competitive advantage as our members receive current information about emerging legal, ethical and professional topics and perspectives.

Leadership

Members have many opportunities to serve in SCASP leadership and committee positions, which are platforms for you to connect further with others about your ideas and concerns. Our organization strives to recruit members and leaders who want to help shape our roles as school psychologists and improve our profession and children’s outcomes.

Connect

Newly trained school psychologists will find professional relationships to be an important benefit to membership. Your SCASP membership runs one full year from the date you join! Join any time of the year and get the benefits of a full year of membership!

All SCASP members who are applying for membership or renewing membership are asked to answer a few questions and to review the SCASP Technology Use Policy. See the application for these questions.

By submitting your application for membership or by renewing your membership, you are certifying that all of the information you have provided is true and accurate, and you understand that SCASP may use information provided to verify your certification/licensure status with the state of South Carolina.

Associate - $70.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments An Associate Member is one who possesses a bachelor’s degree or higher in psychology or a related field and demonstrates professional interest in the field of school psychology.

Board - $50.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments

Common Address - $80.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments * Member residing at the same address as another member.

Full - $100.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments A Full Member is one who is certified by the South Carolina Department of Education as a School Psychologist, or licensed by the South Carolina Labor & Licensing Board as a Licensed Psychologist trained in school psychology or Licensed Psycho-Educational Specialist, or primarily engaged in the training of school psychologists at a South Carolina college.

Patron - $125.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments

Retired - $50.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments A retired Member is anyone holding Full Member status for a period of five years and who, upon retirement from full-time professional activity, becomes a Retired Member by paying an annual fee to be established by the officers of the Board but not to exceed one-half (1/2) of the dues assessed a Full member.

Student - $25.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments ** Must have letter of verification from faculty member.

Transition - $50.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments Transition member status may be granted for a period of one year post-graduation. A transition member is one who:
Meets all of the requirements of a full member and;
Has held Student Member status the year prior to seeking Transition Member Status
